fun in the dark

Christopher loves playing chicken shoot on the Wii. It's the only game he can play, and he does really well, usually getting around 2000 points before he's done. His dad is pretty proud.

Christopher got into the stickers the other day...I noticed the kids were very quiet suddenly, and this is what I found.

This has been another icy week. Ryan had both of his basketball games cancelled, and my work was called off Wednesday due to the ice and Friday afternoon due to the electricity being off. So, Friday night we headed out to my mom and dad's and Christopher, Caitlyn and I spent the night there since the electricity was still off. Christopher had a lot of fun playing with Papa Bruce. They had tea parties in the bathroom (yep, papa bruce started that one the weekend before when he and Jaela had locked themselves in the bathroom to have a tea party without the boys interrupting them...christopher was so jealous that he had to have one that night!) The electricity did come back on late that night, but we stayed there incase it went out again. Christopher had to argue with me that the bed we were sleeping in was not my old bed, but was grandma's old bed. Caitlyn couldn't find herself sleeping in the playpen, so needless to say we went to bed around midnight and were up again at 3 am and that was about all the sleep I got that night. We all took naps Saturday afternoon and slept our normal schedule again last night. Caitlyn has slept a lot today, so she must still be making it up.

Yesterday Caitlyn had her first fruit food, she's up to applesauce now. She really liked it. She seems to be eating a ton this weekend, must finally be getting over the shots. They definitely had her a little off this past week...she just wasn't herself at all and was more fussy than normal. That seems to be some better now too.

This next week is another busy week refing for Ryan. He also has a farm show in Sioux Falls a few days. The following week will also be busy with a meeting in Des Moines. He's been kinda disappointed with the weather lately as it has cut into his hunting schedule, but they did get a chance to make up for that some this weekend.
