It's a Girl!

Tuesday morning started out like most others, but after my doctor's appointment, my contractions started. I finished a very busy afternoon at work, and then decided I'd better start paying attention to how fast these contractions were coming. When I got home at 5:30 they were every 3-4 minutes, so I told Ryan that maybe we should go in. He decided to ref his football game first, so my mom and dad came over and got Christopher. At 10pm we finally headed to the hospital. By 1am we were finally admitted and all was going well, however at 3:30 we started noticing a few decelerations on the monitor. At 4am, they we noticed some significant problems, and decided to do an emergency c-section. Caitlyn Rae Freese came to join us at 5:14 am on Wednesday morning, 09-09-09 weighing 7lbs 11 and 1/2 oz and was 19 3/4 inches long. Both she and I are doing very well. She reminds me a lot of Christopher when he was born, however she does have really dark hair and his was more sandy blonde.
We made it home from the hospital Saturday afternoon and so far Christopher is being a really good big brother. He is very protective of her as we noticed yesterday when my mom stopped by and walked with her to the other room when she was leaving and Christopher yelled "my baby stay here!". He is for the most part quite helpful with her too, and so far we haven't seen too much jealousy. He does on occasion still call her baby Michael (we're not really sure where he got that name, but that is what he wanted us to name her for many weeks now). Most of the time though, he will wake up or come in and yell, where is baby Caitlyn and come running for her.
These next few weeks will be a bit tricky as I can't lift anything heavier than Caitlyn, so I really can't lift Christopher, but during the days Ryan is gone he can still go to daycare and so far we are getting the nights where Ryan is refing covered between my mom, Jeana, and Kristin to help out with Pete.
