Yesterday, I came home at dinner to quite the surprise! I saw what I thought to be twins by our cow, so I ran in the house and told Ryan that his cow just had twins. We ran out to look and then found the 3rd! I looked a little on the internet, and most sites state that this only happens in 1 out of 105,000! As you can see, they are all solid black and they are all girls! They're also quite a bit smaller than our other newborn calves, only a few inches taller than Tinkerbell, our Sheltie, and as Ryan says, they weigh about twice as much as Christopher! He's been carrying them around under one arm as they're so small! Ryan has been quite busy helping out with the feedings. So far yesterday the cow had enough milk for all 3, but we're prepared for bottle feeding them if we have to! As you can tell, it's pretty hard to get a good picture of all three, plus the mom is very protective and does NOT like Ryan playing with her calves! We've already had several visitors stop by to see them, so if you're wanting to see this rare thing, stop on out!
